Welcome to the inaugural #MaritimeUKWeek - packed full of interesting and thought-provoking events. Keep an eye out for news and other announcements, too. The week is a real opportunity to shine a spotlight on the maritime sector, its role and future. There are events being held across the country, from Liverpool and London, to Southampton.
Each day we'll highlight what's on, look back at the
previous day and flag events coming up. We know you're all busy people, so
we'll trawl through the back catalogue to bring you our pick of the articles
and comment pieces that you may have missed!

Last night saw the London launch of the Women in Maritime Charter (more info below), and today sees the launch of London International Shipping Week 2019.
The DfT produced a short video to accompany the event, featuring women from across the sector, talking about what a career in maritime means to them. You can see it below.
Throughout Maritime UK Week, commercial officers from the UK's embassies and high commissions across the world are being briefed on the latest developments in UK maritime capability. Today they are in the West Midlands.

It’s Day 3 of #MaritimeUKWeek!
Last night, the countdown to #LISW19 began.
Guests attending a reception at Norton Rose Fulbright heard that the theme for
London International Shipping Week, to be held in September 2019 will be
'international trade in a changing world'.
What's on the agenda today? New research into Ports and Air Quality by UKMPG,
the ICS Open Day and BPA's Parliamentary Reception.
The London School of Shipping is also launched today. Run by the Institute of
Chartered Shipbrokers, London’s shipping community and leading broking
houses have been involved in the design of the School, having long-called for
an officially-supported teaching centre in London.

in UK maritime capability. Today they are at Norton Rose Fulbright with Maritime
London members to focus on maritime professional services.

Yesterday saw events in Liverpool and London. In Liverpool, Mersey Maritime and the MNTB held a series of events looking at the future of the rating, followed by the Northern launch for the #WomenInMaritime Charter. In London a naming ceremony was held for the Sea Cadets' new yacht and also a seminar on the future of UK-India maritime trade.
What's on the agenda today? The Southampton Boat Show gets underway, Maritime London and Berenberg discuss IMO's 2020 regulations and competitors participate in the OSCAR Dragon Boat Race,
