Vacancy: Director, Shipbuilders & Shiprepairers Association
An opening exists for the position of Director of the Association. The Director/ Chief Executive is supported by a high-level administrator and a council with currently 9 members with very interesting and diverse skill sets. A remuneration dependant on the applicant’s experience will be offered. The headquarters of the association is based at Pallion Shipyard in Sunderland but the incumbent will not necessarily need to be based in the north east. Experience within the maritime industry at a senior level is required and would involve taking up a position on the board of Maritime UK. Ideally knowledge of EU funded project management would also be beneficial.
Our association is a British led national maritime trade association with European and International capabilities, representing a diverse membership including vessel production and repair companies, equipment manufacturers, service providers, and research institutes.
SSA supports the marine industry with the aim of improving performance and company profile, creating business opportunities, providing access to funding and industry expertise.
We organise numerous industry events and networking opportunities as well as holding national pavilions at several key industry exhibitions in the UK and Internationally.
SSA works alongside several national and governmental agencies, providing help, support and guidance.
