Greetings, colleagues! I'm Maritime UK's new Programme Manager for Diversity and Skills. 

Maritime has been part of my family for a number of years with my grandfather, and great-grandfather, both working for Marine Insurance in their day. It is a sector I am very excited to learn more about. Last year I returned home to London after working in Australia for the past 12 years and I was proud to become a dual citizen in 2012. Whilst in Australia I established diversity & skills strategies and programmes for the mining and property sectors. I also experienced working in Government assisting the New South Wales Minister for Transport. 

I am passionate about diversity & inclusion and ensuring industry has a continuous pipeline of highly skilled people to support current and future needs.

To that end, we want to invite you to attend our first virtual Women in Maritime Taskforce meeting on Monday 30 March from 1.30pm via Zoom.

The meeting provides us with an opportunity to celebrate diversity, progress our collective work, and chart our future plans whilst many of us work remotely and flexibly in the midst of COVID-19 uncertainty.

Here is a snapshot of the agenda:

  • An introduction to our new Diversity in Maritime programme, which we will be launching in the coming month
  • Your thoughts on what programmes and actions you would like Women in Maritime to focus on in 2020
  • Interactive presentation on 'How to work remotely' and 'How to manage a team remotely'
  • Update from 1851 Trust roadshows
  • Discussion on apprenticeships

As many of us are working parents, who are now homeschooling, we welcome you to bring your children into the conversation.
