Pride in Maritime Meeting

Maritime UK are delighted to host a 'Pride in Maritime' meeting, hosted by our Chair of Pride in Maritime Network, Lee Clarke, General Manager at Isle of Man Maritime. 

The next Pride in Maritime Network meeting will focus on establishing subcommittees for Education, Empowerment, and Visibility. These subcommittees will tackle the following goals:

• Education: Develop inclusive training programs that raise awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly around LGBTQ+ topics. They will also promote maritime career pathways, especially for underrepresented communities, and create resources to foster inclusive workplaces.
  
• Empowerment: Support leadership development through mentorship for LGBTQ+ individuals, establish networking opportunities, and advocate for inclusive policies and representation across the maritime sector.
  
• Visibility: Organise Pride events in port cities, launch a multimedia visibility campaign to highlight LGBTQ+ professionals, and promote their representation in industry publications and conferences.
  

These initiatives aim to increase visibility, inclusion, and empowerment within the maritime industry.
