Maritime UK invites employers to join this session to find out how they can get involved with the Maritime Masters programme.

Now in its fourth year the programme is an invaluable link between academia and industry, where employers share research topics they would like masters students to study and explore to help them in their business. This helps the students to decide what to choose for their final project, having understood topics of salience within the sector, and in developing a wider understanding of the maritime industries.

Maritime UK is keen in the 2021-22 academic year to broaden the range of research topics to cover the five National Priorities for Maritime UK:

  • Environment
  • Innovation
  • Regional Growth
  • People
  • Competitiveness

To further develop the programme, Maritime UK is seeking to enhance the level of support provided to individual students by the sector:

  • To provide them with a series of webinars in the Spring of 2022, exploring all the industries in the sector over three sessions. Employers will have the opportunity to make presentations at these events.
  • To offer them mentoring at a distance, in a relaxed kind of internship whilst they are studying
  • To support gathering a central point of information for internship and graduate training schemes
  • To enhance and help the participants develop their employability skills

This session will introduce maritime businesses to the programme and explain how to get involved in 2021-22.
