The 2020 Maritime Masters Finalist Reception will take place on Thursday 15 October from 14:00 – 16:00. The event is part of Maritime UK Week 2020 and is the conclusion to the third iteration of the Maritime Masters programme, where finalists from each of the nine participating universities will be presenting their research to an industry audience and where one will be named the winner through a public vote.

Due to the current situation surrounding Covid-19, this year’s event will be held in a virtual format. A virtual event stand will be made available one week before the live event takes place, giving participants an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the student finalists and their research.

Introduced and chaired by Maritime UK Vice Chair Sarah Kenny OBE, the students will have exactly five minutes each to give the audience a brief introduction and overview of their research. Once all presentations have concluded, the audience will be able to vote for their favourite research through the online platform and a winner will be announced shortly thereafter.

The Maritime Masters programme is run by Maritime UK and sponsored by Royal HaksoningDHV and Clarksons Platou. This year’s participating universities include: UCL, University of Strathclyde, Cass Business School, University of Plymouth, Cardiff University, Liverpool John Moores University, Newcastle University, Queen Mary University of London and the University of Southampton.
