Finalist Resources
Congratulations!
Being shortlisted as a finalist for a Maritime UK Award is a huge achievement and we wish you the very best of luck in the next stage. To help you capitalise on your success in the meantime, we have some suggested ways you can make the most of being shortlisted.
The awards ceremony
The awards ceremony takes place on the evening of 19 September at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton Grand Harbour, just across the road from Southampton International Boat Show, powered by Borrow A Boat.
It’s set to be a fantastic evening, where you’ll have the chance to network with the highest flying people from the maritime sector. As well as the excitement of the awards themselves, there’ll be a delicious three-course meal, entertainment and a DJ.
You may like to invite your staff, customers, suppliers and potential customers to join you on the evening.
To order a table of 10 (£1,500) simply click here to book. Alternatively, to buy individual tickets (£175) click here to book.
Filming
We would like to interview a representative from all shortlisted finalists on camera. These short videos will be shown on the evening, ahead of the announcement of the relevant category.
There are three filming dates:
- Monday, August 19 (TBC in Southampton/Portsmouth)
- Friday, August 23 (At Maritime UK’s offices in London)
- Thursday, August 29 (At Mersey Maritime’s offices in Birkenhead)
Zoe Smith from Helical Productions will be touch with you shortly to confirm your choice of location and issue a time slot.
Finalist Reception
The Finalists' Reception will bring together the three finalists from each award category with the judges and sponsors during London International Shipping Week.
19:00 - 21:00 on Wednesday, 11 September 2019.

Press release
A press release will be going out to the media announcing the full shortlist for the awards. However, you may like to send your own press release to your media contacts. This might include local press as well as any specialist trade magazines for your part of the sector.
You can also add the press release to the news section of your website and link back to this from your social media channels (e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).
A template release can be downloaded at the bottom of this page for you to adapt. However, please DO NOT change quotes that are already included. If you would like a variation on these, please email us so that we can try to get an amended version for you.
Email newsletter
If your company or organisation sends regular email newsletters, this provides a great opportunity to let all your contacts know about your shortlisting.
Include a short story in your next email newsletter and don’t forget to link back to a full story on your website.
Internal communications
Don’t forget to tell all of your employees about being shortlisted. An email to all staff can get everyone engaged and on-board.
